Szanowni studenci,
dla was napisałem podręcznik [1] Systemy liczbowe, Lulu Publishing, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, 2010.
10 kopii tego podręcznika zostały prezentowane do biblioteki Akademii Morskiej. Biblioteka otrzymała również tekst podręcznika w wersji elektronicznej w celu dostępu do podręcznika w czytelni biblioteki. Prawdopodobnie to jest pierwszy przypadek w wydawniczym działaniu Akademii Morskiej, kiedy Akademia i jej biblioteka otrzymują podręcznik bezpłatnie bo użytkowałem technologią druku, zwany Print on demand (POD):
$6.13 kosztuje książka papierowa ~20 PLN
Tyle z mojej strony, pozdrawiam
Evgeny Ochin
Print on demand, sometimes called publish on demand, is a printing technology and business process in which new copies of a book (or other document) are not printed until an order has been received. "Print on Demand" developed only after digital printing began [2], because it was not economical to print single copies using traditional printing technology such as letterpress and offset printing.
Many traditional small presses have replaced their traditional printing equipment with POD equipment or contract their printing out to POD service providers. Many academic publishers, including university presses, use POD services to maintain a large backlist; some even use POD for all of their publications[3]. Larger publishers may use POD in special circumstances, such as reprinting older titles that had been out of print or for performing test marketing [4].
