QLA is Lao civil society organization providing assistance and support services to victims of unexploded ordnance (UXO) and people with disabilities (PWD) in the Xieng Khouang Province in northern Lao. QLA works to

• • educate the general public about the impact of UXO in Laos, the rights of people with disabilities (PWD) and to support medical, psychosocial, rehabilitation and livelihood programs for UXO survivors, families, PWD and UXO impacted communities.

QLA’s project includes a variety of activities to provide comprehensive support to PWD in Xieng Khouang.

• • financial literacy and livelihoods trainings for PWD (animal raising), with a small grant to allow participants to purchase animals after the training

  • provision of assistive devices

  • peer to peer psycho-social support through a Social Club for PWD

  • support for access to medical treatment

  • work with village leaders to create an Inclusion Committee in Khoun District

  • train 40 village leaders on the rights of PWD and how to more effectively include PWD in community activities.
