Thank you for your interest in the Team 911 Academy. This 5 day academy starting 6/16/2025 is hosted in partnership by
Grand Haven Township Fire Rescue and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
This one of a kind program is designed for teens, ages 15 to 18, who may be interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement, fire services, or EMS. Participants will participate in a multitude of hands-on activities that will offer a glimpse of the overall emergency duties while learning some lifesaving skills. These activities include:
Firefighting skills
K9 demonstration
Group physical fitness training
Team building exercise
Tactical police training
CPR and First Aid
High Angle Rescue/Repelling
Defensive tactics
Vehicle extrication
Firearm safety and operations
Visit to Ottawa County Central Dispatch
Participants should be prepared for a very active week with daily team physical fitness and very little classroom time. Closed toed shoes and comfortable clothes should be worn. A change of clothes is highly encouraged as participants may get wet. If dates are not posted for the upcoming Team 911 Academy please check back at a later time.
This academy is free for all Grand Haven Township residents and only $20.00 for non-residents. The first day will start at 8am and with the rest of the week starting at 8am. The academy ends at 4pm daily, Monday through Thursday, and goes until 5pm on Friday. Lunch, snacks, and water will be provided for free. Please note there will be a maximum of 15 participants allowed to ensure the appropriate amount of interaction for each participant.
