Bio

Born in Trier, Germany's oldest city, I grew up in Germany. After civil service and interning abroad, I studied Economics at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a B.A.. After that, I spent a year in Colchester, UK, to get my M.Sc. in Applied Economics and Data Analysis from the University of Essex, UK. From 2008 to 2013 I studied at the University of Chicago. I have  been at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia since July 2013. During the 2019/2020 academic year, I visited the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the Becker Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago.

I have taught at the University of Chicago, Drexel University, and at the Kyiv School of Economics (virtually & pro bono).
