Information about becoming a Delegate to the 2020 Texas State Republican Convention

If you want to be a Delegate to the Texas State Republican Convention at Houston, Texas on July 16-18 here’s an outline of the process.

1. Fill out the Senate District 25, 2020 Nominations Committee Questionnaire. Clip and paste text below.

2. Return the questionnaire to the Nominations Committee Temporary Chairman at billwelch@sbcglobal.net

3. The temporary Nomination Committee with use best efforts to assign nominations on an equitable basis, taking into consideration all elements of the questionnaire.

4. State Delegates are assigned from our SD25 based upon your individual congressional district. The RPT has assigned the following delegate count for our districts. CD21 gets 11 delegates; CD25 gets 14; CD 35 gets 3. We will also maintain an Alternate Delegate list.

5. At the SD25 convention on June 27th the temporary Nomination Chair will submit his report to the Permanent Nominations Chair who will in-turn seek additional nominations from the floor for consideration.

6. Once the nominations report listing Delegates and Alternate Delegates to the State Convention is complete there will be a final vote of approval by the SD25 convention body.

7. Once the lists of Delegates and Alternate Delegates is approved, the Nominations committee will only make changes by moving alternates to primary delegate spots if a delegate notifies of their intention NOT to attend the State Convention.
