東洋学に関する調査研究、情報活動の一環として、研究部各研究班等の企画により、各種の研究会を開催しています。
シンポジウム「モンゴル帝国史研究の現在と課題」のご案内
このたび内陸アジア史学会は標記のシンポジウムを開催することになり、東洋文庫中央ユーラシア研究グループはこれを共催しています。
近年の日本におけるモンゴル帝国史研究の進展はめざましく、多様なテーマについてすぐれた研究成果が次々と発表されています。海外でもThe Cambridge History of the Mongol Empire（2 vols）が刊行されるなど、研究への関心は高まりと広がりをみせています。この機会をとらえて、標記のようなシンポジウムを開催して研究の現在を見晴らし、これからの課題を展望することには大きな意義があると考えます。今回のシンポジウムは、今後の研究の発展に裨益するとともにし、世界史教育にも貢献することが期待されています。

【概要】
東アジアの各国から唐宋元の中国法制史研究者13名が会し、「唐前期先決杖的活用与五刑体系変遷」「北宋特別法的収集与分析」「元代贓罪的形成与特色」などの題目のもとに、最新の研究成果を発表、討論する。日本語および中国語を利用する。

シンポジウム「AF問題」再考 のお知らせ（第2報）
1962年に起きた「AF問題」は、アメリカからの研究助成の問題に端を発し、当時の日本の学界に大きな議論を巻き起こすとともに、その後の中国近現代史研究にも様々な影響を及ぼしました。今、60年を経て、当時は秘匿されていた事実も判明してきた中で、改めてこの問題について振り返っておくのは、それなりの意味を持つと思われます。
東洋文庫近代中国研究班では、昨年から本班の前身である近代中国研究委員会と本班の歴史を振り返る作業に着手しており、すでに『近代中国研究彙報』第44号（2022年3月刊）に、1950年代の関係史料を掲載しました。次は1960-70年代ということになります。
そこで、以上のような問題意識と経緯を踏まえ、来る9月10日（土）午後に下記の要領でシンポジウムを開催することになりました。

Comparative Study of the Waqf from the East:
Dynamism of Norm and Practices in Religious and Familial Donations

The Toyo Bunko, Research Library for Asian studies in Tokyo, has been conducting a comparative study of waqf endowment, in collaboration with the CNRS International Research Group, TELEMME-MMSH, Aix-Marseille University (headed by Professor Randi Deguilhem) for five years since 2011, holding the workshops in Aix-en-Provence, Tunis, Birzeit/Palestine and Mascara/Algeria. We will hold an international symposium on this subject in Tokyo on December 5-6 2015 in order to clarify the socio-economic role of the waqf donation by cross-area comparisons among the waqf in the Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and similar endowments in China and Japan.
Our goal is to find and locate both regional features and historical changes of the waqf and similar donations within the sweep of human history, based on a common definition of the waqf below, by analyzing historical materials of each region from comparative perspectives on the topics such as purpose, management, profit and its distribution, transformation and abuse, etc., and searching for dynamism of the waqf and similar donations and their potential in the contemporary world.
Definition of the waqf for comparison: irrevocable property donation to distribute the profit to the donor’s family or other beneficiaries as well as for a charitable/philanthropic purpose, by creating a management body independent from the donor and the State.
