TBBA/C2C
The TBBA and C2C leagues merged in January of 2006, coupling 20 teams from two established APBA associations. The merging of duplicate rosters was the most delicate step in the process as teams ranked their common players and ultimately decided to work out compensation or leave rights up to a coin toss. The combining of both leagues constitutions was relatively painless as several common rules were in place. The 1st annual TBBA/C2C Draft was held on January 14, 2006 and replenished the newly molded rosters.
Beginning in 1986 the TBBA operated originally as an APBA board league comprised of 16 members soley in the Tampa Bay area. League founder Bill Campbell remained commissioner through the years as the TBBA evolved into a APBA computer league, eventually branching out to other states in 1998 thanks to the internet. Bill passed suddenly that year due to complications from cancer and the William E. Campbell trophy was created in his honor. Since that time the league has seen six commissioners; Geoff Vandal, Matt Miller, Jim Purcell, Steve Field, Chris Hughes, and current commissioner Joseph Allen. Over the years, the TBBA has had as few as 9 and as many as 20 teams.
