[new] Started a new research project

We are excited to start a project Natural reinforcement learning integrating intrinsic motivation and sociality

funded by Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research, 20H04259 from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science as the PI, April 2020 – March 2023.

Started a new research project

We are excited to start a project Development of a theory of deep reinforcement learning equipped with bounded rationality funded by Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research 17H04696 from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science as the PI, April 2017 – March 2020.

Back from a one-year sabbatical leave

From April 2016 to March 2017, I stayed in Europe as a Visiting Scholar at EPHE in Paris (at Jean Baratgin's, EPHE/Paris 8) and University of London, Birkbeck in London (at Mike Oaksford's, UL Birkbeck), after 8 years of teaching from 2008 to 2016 (total: 62 undergraduates, 14 masters, and 2 PhDs).

Introduction

I am an associate professor at Tokyo Denki University and run the Internal Measurement lab (for now only in Japanese). I am also an associate member of PARIS (Probabilitè, Anticipation, Raisonnement, Infèrence et Subtrat), at CHArt (Cognitions humaine et artificielle) at University Paris 8, Paris X, and EPHE, where I stayed for a year from April 2016.

My interests span from cognitive psychology of reasoning to machine learning to complex systems. My recent research topics include reinforcement learning, psychology of causal induction and (bi)conditionals, and robotics.

Here is my CV (as of Jul 30, 2016); I am on ResearchGate, Google Scholar, slideshare, and dblp. You can contact me at tatsujit@mail.dendai.ac.jp and @ttsjtkhs (Twitter).
