A nice view from the site where I sometimes sampled termites. You can see the Japan's Inland Sea (Seto-naikai), which is my most favorite sea in Japan, and a long (13 km) bridge over the sea.
A castle (at Himeji) and full-blooming cherry blossums near my apartment when I did the first post-doc
A tall residence, which has 41 stories, and a traditional Buddhism temple next to it, in central Osaka. I couldn't see this kind of contrast in Kyoto. Maybe you can see such contrast in Tokyo. It's unbelievable to see such carelessness toward the harmony of the scenic landscape in Japan, yet I believe this chaos unintentionally shapes the unique atmosphere of Japanese cities.
World’s tallest species, giraffe in Tennoji zoo and Japan's second-tallest building, Abeno harukas, in Osaka.
Ginkgo trees in autumn at Okayama Univ. where I did the first post-doc.
It's me climbing up Mt.Fuji, being already above coulds.
A Japanese cuisine restaurant "Ittoku", which has many large fish-tanks, in the city Marugame, Shikoku Island. I love this restaurant.
This is typical meal at the restaurant. It looks fantastic!!
Traditional hive for the Japanese honey bee in the apiary
Snowy apiary I managed when I was Ph.D student.
A view around the place I grew up (rice field and well-maintained ridge ways)
