Supporting Others

We regularly support the events of other local musical groups, either as a whole orchestra, or as individual members.

The TSO frequently works with the Ars Nova Choir, either in joint productions or as an accompanying group. Past concerts have included The Armed Man (2015 & 2006), Verdi Requiem (2013), Carmina Burana (2001), Last Night of the Proms (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012), The Messiah, Popular Opera (2004) Winter Solstice (including Haydn Nelson Mass) (2003) The Creation and many others.

Many orchestra members play for the New Plymouth Operatic Society Productions, which are always of an exceptional, near-professional standard. Recent productions include: Mamma Mia (2015), Phantom of the Opera (2014) Miss Saigon (2009) The Sound of Music (2008), Godspell (2006), Cats (2007), Oliver (2005), Annie (2003), Les Miserables (2002 & 1994) Buddy (2000) and many others.
