About Me

I was born and raised in Minnesota. I graduated from Carleton College in 2013 with my B.A. in Linguistics and German. Between graduating from undergrad and starting the Ph.D. program at Michigan in Fall 2015, I served with two different educational AmeriCorps programs in two different cities. In my first year, I worked as a K-3 Literacy Tutor at an Elementary school in my hometown to help students achieve grade-level reading skills. In my second year, I moved to Washington DC and worked as a Site Coordinator for For Love of Children, which is a local tutoring program helping 1st through 12th graders achieve grade-level in Reading and Math.

I currently enjoy much of my free time at home watching TV shows (A few shows: Great British Baking Show, Greys Anatomy, This is Us, and The Crown), playing D&D, running, doing barre, knitting, dyeing my hair, playing with makeup, and cooking.
