At IBM TechXchange 2024 in Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to speak about the transformative potential of combining IBM's Watsonx Data, AI, and governance frameworks with GigaSpaces solutions. Focusing on generative AI and augmenting IBM solutions such as IBM Power, I shared how GigaSpaces’ modern microservices architecture enhances these powerful technologies. This integration enables organizations to revolutionize their operations with agility, scalability, and robust data governance, paving the way for innovation and seamless adaptability. It was inspiring to discuss how organizations can now leverage a dynamic, flexible approach to push the boundaries of AI and data management.

Some key takeaways from the IBM Watson Technical Forum led by Anant Jhingran, IBM Fellow & CTO:
• Databases are foundational when discussing AI—AI needs to be brought to the data, not the other way around.
• We explored AI vs IA (Intelligence Amplification): Will machines replace humans, or enhance what we do best?
• IT departments face staffing challenges—full 100% automation isn’t realistic, but 99% automation just might be within reach.
• A new era of agentic disruption is here, with multi-agent assistants handling complex, domain-specific tasks vs. traditional deterministic systems.
• We’re shifting focus from scaling intelligence at training time to runtime intelligence growth—a fascinating transformation.

Stephen Zampino and I had a great time attending the event together, where we had some insightful sessions on WEKA’s massive parallel NVMe persistence and NVIDIA’s golden standards. For those unfamiliar, WEKA provides a distributed, parallel file system optimized for flash and NVMe storage, enabling faster data access and high scalability. WEKA accelerates these demanding workloads by ensuring low-latency access to vast amounts of data, making it particularly useful in environments requiring high performance, such as research and AI.
A big shoutout to Lior Paster from Nvidia for sharing his insights! It’s always inspiring to learn and push the boundaries of what’s possible with innovative tech.

Had a fantastic time representing GigaSpaces Technologies at the NYC Business Fair alongside Stephen Zampino and Giyora Ramati. The range of local businesses was incredible—from innovative dating apps to top-notch charcuterie utensils, and groundbreaking learning management systems. One standout was an open-source book publisher reaching 23 countries (all locally translated), giving children access to stories they otherwise wouldn’t have. Proud to be part of such an inspiring event and showcase GigaSpaces' value proposition to the vibrant New York business ecosystem!

It's noteworthy that the Space-Based Architecture pattern, despite its less widespread recognition, presents an exceptional alternative to microservices, especially when performance is paramount. This architecture, which has been adopted by hundreds of our customers, has also laid the groundwork for cloud computing giants like Amazon and Google.
