"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the 'present'."
Hi there! Are you enjoying your life? I truly believe life is a gift, and it’s something we should learn to appreciate and enjoy—especially while we’re still students. Of course, there are times when life feels tough or even scary, like walking through a dark tunnel with no end in sight. But honestly, if we knew everything that was going to happen, life would lose its excitement. Predictability can be pretty boring.
Life is more like an adventure—a mysterious and exciting journey into the unknown. Sometimes, it’s good to throw yourself into new experiences, even if they feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable. That’s how you discover parts of yourself you never knew were there.
For me, that space is hiking. My job is to teach and do research at the university, and most of my time is spent sitting at a desk in a pretty routine and sometimes dull environment. So whenever I can, I step outside—literally—and escape into nature. Exploring new places makes me feel alive and refreshed. It helps me recharge and often gives me creative solutions to problems I’ve been stuck on.
I also enjoy taking photos during my hikes. It helps me connect more deeply with nature and notice details I might otherwise miss. Photography has taught me that when you slow down and really observe, you start seeing meaning in things you once overlooked.
So here’s my advice: don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Try new things. Explore new places. Take risks. Your life—the “present”—is full of possibilities. Why not go find your own adventure?
