Conference paper selected for journal publication in STCC (July 2015)
Dr. Rizvi’s research paper, ASemi-Distributed Access Control Management Scheme for Securing CloudEnvironment, published in IEEE CLOUD 2015 conference. It was recognized and selected by the program committee for the publication in Services Transactions on Cloud Computing(STCC) as an extended paper. This conference paper also received considerable attention in the literature and it has been cited in five other articles including one citation in a PhD dissertation and two citations in top-ranked journals (Journal of Supercomputing - Springer and Neurocomputing – Elsevier).

Received Best Paper Award in 9th ACM IMCOM (January 2015)
One of Dr. Rizvi’s conference papers (A Stakeholder-Oriented Assessment Index for Cloud Security Auditing) received the best paper award from the 9th ACM International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (IMCOM). IMCOM is considered as one of the prestigious conferences in the area of information management and communication technologies. IMCOM 2015 received research papers from some of the best universities around the world (e.g., George Mason University, Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, Indian Institute of Technology – India, Seoul National University – Korea, etc.). A total of 417 research papers were submitted to the conference. After a strict review process, only 109 papers were selected for presentation and publication in the ACM proceedings with an acceptance rate of 28.77%. Dr. Rizvi’s research paper received a best paper award from more than 100 (109 already shortlisted papers) presented papers at the conference. The paper was later recommended for the SCI journal as one of 20 selected papers from 109 accepted papers at the 2015 IMCOM. It is indeed a great achievement of Dr. Rizvi by competing with some of the best-renowned universities in the world and be recognized for both the best paper award and publication in an SCI journal. Recently, Dr. Rizvi published the extended version of this paper in a special issue “Everything as a Service: cloud computing for innovative services and paradigm” of Journal of Supercomputing.

Syed Rizvi has Successfully Defended his Ph.D. Dissertation
Syed Rizvi has successfully defended his PhD dissertation work. The final presentation was scheduled on December 16, 2010 at School of Engineering, University of Bridgeport. The PhD dissertation title was **A Generic Optimized Time Management Algorithms (OTMA) Framework for Simulating Large-Scale Overlay Networks**.
