Welcome to the main web page for the Salt Lake Swiss Chorus Edelweiss.

We are a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Swiss music and activities in Utah (more information here). The organization consists of a singing and yodeling chorus, an alphorn group, small musical ensembles, and a children's chorus.

We welcome anyone who is interested in participating with us: singing, playing an instrument, or helping out with chorus business. We generally rehearse on Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the former Hillside Chapel, 1400 South 1900 East, SLC. Everyone interested is welcome! Send us an email if you're coming for the first time so we can provide you with useful arrival instructions.

Recent events:

  1. In April 2026 we had a great time participating in the Swiss singing festival "Echoes of the Alps: A Celebration of Swiss Music and Culture" in California, hosted by the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Echoes who were celebrating their 100th anniversary.

  2. We performed a special Swiss Christmas/holiday concert at the Provo City Library on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 7 p.m. Thanks to everyone in the large, enthusiastic crowd that attended, and to the Provo Library for inviting us!

  3. On Sunday, December 7th, 2025 at 8 p.m. at the BYU Music Building Concert Hall, alphorn players from our group and Wasatch Alphorns performed at the BYU Adventsingen program. It's always a beautiful event!

  4. On Saturday, November 8th at 7 p.m. we held our 91st annual Fall Concert. The audience was enthusiastic and we had a couple of surprises for them! Thanks to all choir members, instrumentalists, and audience members.

Upcoming events we'll be performing at or sponsoring:

  1. We will be performing twice at the 2026 Salt Lake Living Traditions Festival on Friday, May 15th on the Library's (East) Lawn near the Kids Area. Our first performance will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon (for School Day), and the second one from 6:00-6:30 p.m. (general public).

For further information or to schedule a singing and/or alphorn performance email us at:  swisschorusedelweiss@gmail.com. Again, we're always looking for more musicians and singers, and we rehearse in Salt Lake City most Thursdays; let us know if you're interested in joining!
