Welcome to the main web page for the Salt Lake Swiss Chorus Edelweiss.
We are a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Swiss music and activities in Utah (more information here). The organization consists of a singing and yodeling chorus, an alphorn group, small musical ensembles, and a children's chorus.
We welcome anyone who is interested in participating with us: singing, playing an instrument, or helping out with chorus business. We'll be starting our Fall 2025 season on Thursday, September 25th at 7 p.m. at the former Hillside Chapel, 1400 South 1900 East, SLC. Rehearsals will continue every Thursday evening (except for Thanksgiving Day) at the same time and place until late December. Everyone interested is welcome!
We performed at the 2025 Salt Lake Living Traditions Festival on Friday, May 16th from 9:15-9:45 a.m. on the South Stage, and on Saturday, May 17th from 7:30-8:00 p.m. at the lawn venue. The festival was lots of fun and free for everyone!
On March 20th at 7 p.m. we performed at the Legacy Village of Sugar House. Lots of audience enthusiasm and participation!
We performed at RootsTech 2025 at the Salt Lake Salt Palace on Thursday, March 6th from 10:30-11:00 a.m., and on Friday, March 7th from 8:45-9:15 a.m. A whole convention center full of people interested in tradition, culture, and genealogy!
We had a busy 2024 holiday season with performances at the Layton Nativity Market (November 9th), Christkindlmarkt SLC 2024 (December 4th), and the BYU Adventsingen concert (December 8th).
We held our 90th Anniversary Fall Concert on Friday, October 18th, 2024, including special decorations and a memorabilia display. It was a wonderful evening; thanks to all choir members, instrumentalists, and audience members!
In April 2026 we will be attending a Swiss singing festival in San Joaquin Valley in California, hosted by the Swiss Echoes who will be celebrating their 100th anniversary.
For further information or to schedule a singing and/or alphorn performance email us at: swisschorusedelweiss@gmail.com. Again, we're always looking for more musicians and singers, and we rehearse in Salt Lake City most Thursdays; let us know if you're interested in joining!
