HOW TO FIND US
Swindon is famed for its roadworks and pioneering roundabouts. Google directions have not yet necessarily caught up with all of them so these directions might help. The venue is off Grange Drive. Sat. Nav.: SN3 4JY. Please update your Sat. Nav.
If you are coming by Rail
Walk from the Rail Station to the Bus Station and board a No.7 bus (to Highworth). Ask to be dropped off at the Leisure Centre on Grange Drive. Your return stop is the other side of the road. The centre is 100 yards down a short signposted road.
If you are coming via Oxford....
In the outskirts of Swindon on the A420 you pass the Gablecross Police Station on the right, then come to a roundabout with traffic lights. Sainsbury’s is on the left. Go straight over this roundabout heading for Swindon. Get into the right hand lane.
The road changes from 2 to 4 lanes, coming up to a bridge across the next very large roundabout. The 2 left hand lanes fork off to M4/Marlborough/Wanborough. Lanes 3 & 4 are both road-marked Swindon. Go under the bridge in the middle lane and curve off left to Swindon (3rd exit)
Immediately you exit the roundabout, get into the right hand slip lane and turn right. Wemyss Lodge Care Home is to your left, allotments to your right, & ahead is a traffic-light controlled railway bridge. Go over this bridge and up Ermin Street. Pass a garage on your left, then houses either side, a shop on the left, and then some green spaces with trees either side of a turning left. This is Grange Drive. Turn left into it!
On the second bit of green is a flagpole and peace memorial. Do not go past it!
Go about 200 yards up Grange Drive and turn right.
The unnamed road will take you directly into the venue's car park.
If you are coming via the M4.....
Exit at Junction 15, follow signs to Swindon, travelling north on the A419. Take the A3142 exit signposted to Swindon/Oxford/Gablecross/S.Marston/Stratton. As you come to a large roundabout with a bridge over it, get into the left hand lane. Turn left at the lights and take the 1st exit. Then follow the italic instructions above.
If you are coming from north down the A419 from Cirencester:
Leave the 419 dual carriageway for the A420 (Oxford) – the sliproad leads you into the White Hart Roundabout. You need the 4th exit for Swindon then follow the instructions in italics above.
If you are coming across Swindon Centre:
Take the A420 Oxford Road/Drakes Way, to the Greenbridge Roundabout. Take the 2nd exit (A361) to the New Inn Roundabout. Once there, take the outside lane and 3rd exit Grange Drive, virtually turning right.
About 200 yards from the end of Grange Drive turn left into the road signposted to the venue.
For Non Philatelists – Swindon is full of shops! The Retail Outlet Village is located in the Old Railway Works which also houses 'STEAM', the GWR Museum. Our Town Centre has plenty of leading brand names and lots of places to eat and drink, plus there is a Fish 'n Chip shop on Grange Drive and a Wetherspoon's at its eastern end.
