Hi all
6 of us went to Lakes last week: David. Ed, Simon, Alastair, Kevin (a friend of Simon) and Vivek.
Plan was to get to Lakes on 24 noon and climb but it was raining and we therefore decided to take a detour to Stanage Edge in Peaks. 4 of us made it to peaks and had a cracking day of climbing.
Got to Lakes in the evening and were met by an intoxicated and very shouty, loud and rude campsite owner. That took a while to deal with. He was a transformed man the next day morning.
it had been raining on 24th, but we took a chance to do a long route on Gillercombe Butteress. Ed and David’s route was too wet and they had to bail out and do climbing in the valley. Rest of us did Gillercome Coombe Buttress S 200 mts.
On 25th Simon and Kevin decides to do some roadside cragging. Rest of us had planned to go up to Scafell. We left at 6 am and got to Pulpit Rock at 930 and did a long VD (HVd according to UKC) in freezing temperature and winds. Very nice route. 7 pitches all very interesting. Then a long walk back.
All in all super 3 days. Few pics below
