Guidelines:
*All performers must adhere to their time duration
*If you have not been given a slot for a previous concert, please reapply for the following month if you still want a slot
*You must fill out a form for every performance type you would like to do
ex. Vocal main & percussion accompaniment both require different forms
*Only the 1 hour slot requires an audition to be sent with the application. This can be sent to our email swaralayamusic@gmail.com
- Is ready to perform in a concert format
- Can sing krithis proficiently
- Is ready to sing with percussion and melody accompaniments
- Can perform krithis, alapana, kalpana swarams proficiently
- Oppurtunity for tani strongly reccomended
- Violin returns must be given
- Stage Rules:
- Can perform krithis, alapana, kalpana swarams, neraval proficiently
- Oppurtunity for tani must be given
- Violin returns must be given
- If opportunity arises, you are willing to perform for a longer duration than 1 hour
-Application Rules
- For vocal main applicants: Krithi, Alapana, Kalpana Swaram, and Nerval must all be present in the application recording.
- For melody instrument main applicants: Krithi, Alapana, Kalpana Swaram must be present in the application recording.
- For melody instrument accompaniment applicants: Krithi, Alapana, Kalpana Swaram must be present in the application recording. Applicant must play the elements above alone.
- For percussion accompaniment applicants: You must include a krithi accompaniment segment as well as Tani Avarthanam in the application recording. (The krithi used to accompany can be played by an instrument or sung).
Terms:
- Swaralaya will organize the accompanists.
- First time main performers will be required to start at the 15 min time slot unless a recording is sent which
- Swaralaya will not always be able to accommodate exact slot-duration requests.
- Every performer will be required to pay $20 (once a year) and must be paid in cash at venue.
- Any additional donations (in cash) are much appreciated. Only with your generous support are we able to make concerts like this happen.
- All Swaralaya Programs start on time. Performers must arrive 10 minutes before the start of the concert series.
