Well my former employer had been going through tough economic times for the bulk of 2008. On December 22, they announced that they were going to restructure the business. As part of that they announced that they would be closing the corporate office in Elgin, IL where I worked and that few people would be relocated. After some discussions it became clear that I would not be one of those relocated as the bulk of the IT staff would be let go. So I got busy on a job search and was very lucky to land on my feet pretty quickly. On 3/2/09 I started my new position as IT Infrastructure Manager with Bel Brands USA, located in Elk Grove Villiage, IL. Bel Brands (www.belbrandsusa.com) is the US subsidiary of Paris-based Fromageries Bel. Located in the heart of the rolling hills and flowered prairies of Wisconsin's farmland, the company manufactures Kaukauna brand cheese spreads, along with the Laughing Cow brand processed cheese. Bel's other brand names include Connoisseur, Merkts, Owl's Nest, Price's, and WisPride cheese spreads. Its cheeses are available in cups, tubs, balls, and logs and are distributed throughout the US.
