Another enjoyable Swaffham Prior Feast to look back on..
The sun did eventually shine, occasionally.
Such an amazing afternoon of activities were seen at this year's Swaffham Prior Feast. We watched wonderful performances from the Molly Dancers, East Anglian Swing Troupe and the children from Swaffham Prior School dancing round the Maypole. We tantalised our taste buds with some very tasty ice creams, fed our hunger with something tempting from the barbecue and maybe even treated ourselves to a lovely cream tea. There were of course other liquid refreshments available from the bar, including wine, beer and cider.
The car park was a place of wonder with a very diverse range of automobiles and motorbikes from years gone by, and we were very pleased to be joined by members of 2 of the emergency services, namely the police and fire service, giving up their valuable time.
If you were looking to spend some of your pennies, there were games galore to be enjoyed and at times, frustrated at, such as bowling, "Splat the rat" and Play Your Cards Right. Or if you wanted to have something memorable from the day, there was opportunity to purchase books, games, plants and cake.
Oh and let's not forget the fun we had with the Gurning contest and of course, the traditional Egg Throwing, at the end of the afternoon.
With all that going on, we should take a moment to extend some heartfelt thanks. Firstly, to everyone who visited the event and made it such a successful afternoon, we genuinely couldn't do this without you. Secondly, to all those who contributed to the day by performing, selling, making, creating, displaying and recording (you'll find a selection of photographic moments from the afternoon below,) who provided a wide range of additional interactions, in all manner of ways. And the volunteers; our amazing volunteers who stepped in to man stalls, serve food and drink, host games, etc. The list just goes on but they know who they are and their support is greatly appreciated.
And finally, the committee who tirelessly worked behind the scenes to ensure this annual event was hosted by the hall, to provide an enjoyable afternoon of entertainment to the community.
Thanks again to everyone and we look forward to doing it all again next year.
