2024 Subcommittee Meeting at the 103rd TRB Annual Meeting

The subcommittee meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 3:15 PM in the Marquis Salon 10 (M2). Please come and share your interest in the topic and any news of interest with other participants. We have several great presentations and time for discussion (agenda).

2023 Subcommittee Meeting at the 102nd TRB Annual Meeting

The subcommittee meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, from 10:15 AM to 12:00 PM in the Marquis Salon 13 (M2). Barring any last minute issue, I will chair the meeting. Please come and share your interest in the topic and any news of interest with other participants. 

There is no specific session on surrogate measures of safety, but the topic is present in many sessions. The topic seems as strong as ever, for example for the analysis of the safety of vulnerable road users (session 3196, 3211) and new technologies (micromobility (session 2059), ADAS (sessions 2038, 2228 and 2229)), and when using AI methods (sessions 4080 and 4081).

2022 Subcommittee Meeting at the 101st TRB Annual Meeting

As the annual meeting is held in-person this year, the subcommittee meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 12 from 8:00 to 9:30 AM in the Convention Center, room 156. I will not be able to chair the meeting given the current travel conditions and family obligations at home, but the meeting will happen. Please come and share your interest in the topic and any news of interest with other participants. 

Remote attendance will be possible through Zoom. 

2021 Subcommittee Meeting at the 100th TRB Annual Meeting

The subcommittee meeting will be held virtually this year from 10:00 to 11:30 AM on Wednesday, January 13th (Zoom link to come).

This year is unprecedented in many ways, as it will be held online, but also because our parent committee has changed to the Safety Performance and Analysis (ACS20) Committee, after the fusion of two former safety related committees: the Highway Safety Performance Committee (ANB25), and the Safety, Data, and Analysis Committee (ANB20).

Workshop: Surrogate Safety Measures at RSS 2017

The workshop on Surrogate Safety Measures will happen during the Road Safety & Simulation International Conference 2017 at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) on October 16th. The workshop has been initiated by Horizon 2020 project InDeV (In-depth understanding of accident causation for vulnerable road users, grant 635895): http://rss2017.org/workshop-surrogate-safety-measures/ .
