Terms of Business
1. When a job is telephoned or emailed to us, we will ask relevant questions to enable us to quote accurately. Excluding immediate emergency calls, we will confirm everything by email to include the nature, location and charge for the work, including a link to this page. If a quote has been sent, can you please check the quote, and our Terms, as acceptance of a quote will be deemed an acceptance of these Terms. Please note that this doesn't affect your statutory rights.
2. While most jobs will be fixed price, some jobs will be charged by time, particularly for an investigation to resolve a fault. The customer will be advised, either way, when the job is called in.
3. While we stock most common parts, some parts may need to be ordered before the visit. However, if during the visit it becomes apparent that certain parts need to be acquired, the client will be given the opportunity to (a) postpone the work to a convenient day and time to allow for the acquisition of parts, or (b) to pay for the immediate acquisition of parts, if feasible. The engineer will do his best to acquire the parts as quickly as possible but will clarify such additional costs before proceeding. In either event, the customer will be responsible for the cost of the parts should he / she cancel the work. If the work consists of a variety of independent tasks, the customer will be invoiced for tasks completed.
4. The start time for any work will be the later of the agreed time or the time the engineer arrives. The finish time will be the time the engineer leaves the property. This clause is not relevant for fixed price quotations.
5. There is no extra charge for travelling or parking and there is no call-out charge. However, you may be asked, at the time of booking a job, whether there is any local or off-street parking.
6. We reserve the right to decline a job, and for any reason, including engineer availability, the nature of the work, the location of the work, or any time constraints which we cannot guarantee to meet.
7. In the event of force majeure and a failure of our engineer to attend at the agreed time, we will advise you at our earliest ability with a view to rescheduling the work. Should this happen, we will endeavour to agree a convenient date, although you will have the option of cancelling the work. Either way, and unless agreed in writing beforehand, we will not be liable for any losses or expenses incurred by yourself.
8. For fixed price work which has been agreed to last a whole number of weeks, should the customer decide to cancel or curtail the work without giving one weeks’ notice, we reserve the right to charge the customer for one week’s work. We will also reserve the right to charge the customer for all parts acquired for all the work, whether delivered to the customer or pending.
9. For fixed price work which has been agreed to last up to 7 days, should the customer decide to cancel or curtail the work without giving two days’ notice, we reserve the right to charge the customer for two days’ work. We will also reserve the right to charge the customer for all parts acquired for all the work, whether delivered to the customer or pending. .

We do not charge for quotations or call-outs, nor extra if a quote overruns. We reserve the right to charge extra for additional work, requested subsequent to a quotation. This will be advised when the additional work is requested.
