About Me

I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, India since February 2020.  Previously, I worked as an Assistant Professor in DAV University, Jalandhar from August 2014 to January 2020. Prior to this, I obtained my M.Sc. (Honours School) - Mathematics degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh in May 2010. Thereafter, I joined the department of Mathematics, Panjab university, Chandigarh as a CSIR-junior research fellow (JRF) for my doctoral studies. I completed my PhD under the supervision of Prof. S.K. Tomar in 2016. I am working on the fundamental problems of waves and vibration in swelling porous medium and have published research papers in journals of international repute. Studying wave characteristics through continuous media is the crux of my research. Currently, I am exploring a new area of wave propagation in thermoviscoelastic materials with voids and chiral materials. The associated aspects of this study may be important in the fields of seismology to better understand the wave propagation during disasters like earthquake and in reducing the potentials caused during these disasters.
