Sunrise News

Hello neighbors!

Sunrise is looking great. Welcome to our new neighbors that have recently moved in. Are you aware we have over 800 homes that make up our community?

There have been improvements to many homes...paint, roofs, windows, fencing and landscaping to name a few. Take a drive through!

There have been community improvements as well. Earlier this year the tennis courts on Villa Villanova were resurfaced. Gates were replaced and new locks installed at both tennis courts. Unfortunately, vandals broke part of the lock system  to the gates. The board is working on the repairs. Also, the fountain was recently repaired. Repairs are in the works for the wall on Red Bug (damages to the wall on Citrus have recently been completed). New mulch was applied to our 3 playgrounds and along our wall and fences.

Responsible dog owners have been using the Doggy Stations. Thank you!

Litter in our common areas and parks has become an issue again. Please be courteous and use the trash cans.

Our association meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Oviedo Mall community room. 7pm.  Except for the annual meeting in Novemeber . That will be held on the 2nd Tuesday. Important information affecting all of us residents is discussed. Please attend if you can.

Here's a look ahead at what's happening...

*Community yard sale 10/6-10/7

*Budget meeting in October - important for you to see how our expenses have increased this year -(ex. Insurance increased by $50k)

*Movie in the Park in November

*House decorations contest in December

We got some positive feedback from residents on how we might add events that will give us opportunities to meet our neighbors. This topic will be discussed at our August meeting.

Hope to see you there!

The playgrounds are completed. We hope the children enjoy playing on them, but please help us keep them looking nice.

Reminder: Your HOA dues are now past due. Pay now to avoid late fees.

Thank you to Santa for visiting Sunrise

Please Take Note:

There have been several complaints about feral cats in Sunrise. This can soon become a nuisance. Please do not feed these strays. If you are having a problem with them Seminole County Animal Services offer free traps.

Here is the information from their website:

If the animal is a dog or cat and you know the address where the animal lives, please contact our dispatchers at 407-665-5110. An Animal Services Officer will be sent out to the animal owner’s address to speak with the owner about the problem and advise them of the ordinances in Seminole County.

If the animal is a dog or cat and can be safely confined, you may bring the animal in to our shelter or contact our dispatchers at 407-665-5110 and have an Animal Services Officer come out to pick the animal up. Cats must be confined before an officer can be sent out. Officers can patrol areas for loose dogs, however, calls are run in order of priority and there is no guarantee on when an officer can be in the area. Dogs that have not been confined are often gone by the time an officer arrives.

If a dog or cat cannot be safely confined, Seminole County Animals Services will provide live traps to Seminole county residents for the purpose of trapping nuisance animals. Traps must be picked up from Animals Services by the customer. Animals that are caught in traps can be brought in to the shelter, or upon request, picked up by an Animal Services Officer. Because the number of nuisance traps available each day is limited, we recommend that you call our office before coming to the shelter to be sure that there will be a trap available when you arrive. If there are traps available, we will be happy to hold one for you, but you must pick up the trap that same day. Traps will not be held overnight. There is no cost to the customer for using a nuisance trap provided that the trap is returned on time and has not been damaged or destroyed. Customers with lost, damaged, or destroyed traps will be charged $75 for cat traps and $250 for dog traps. Traps are generally loaned out for one week at a time. At the end of that period (and before the trap is late), if you feel that you haven't caught the animal(s) you may call our office to request an extension. In most cases, extensions will be granted, however, traps can only be extended one time to ensure that everyone who needs to use them will get a chance.

When you arrive to pick up a trap, you will be asked to provide your photo identification showing that you reside within Seminole County. We are unable to issue traps to anyone who resides outside of Seminole County or who does not have proper identification. You will be required to sign a trap agreement/voucher of which you will receive a copy. The agreement includes the date when the trap is due back, the fees that may be applied if the trap is late or lost, and the phone number to call to have an animal picked up. Please remember that traps CAN NOT be set on or before legal holidays as we do not have officers available for pick ups.

Be a responsible pet owner and respect your neighbors. Please clean up after you dog .

IMPORTANT:

For those who do not know, it is illegal to dump yard waste or trash and debris in the common areas. Someone has been doing this and the HOA will now have to pay someone to remove it. Please if you see this happening report it to the property manager, Joe Frasca.

Do you know what the rules and regulations are for those living in Sunrise Estates? If not check out the documents.

Please take note: If you are planting trees or large bushes on your property please keep them at least 2 feet from the HOA fencing.

Just a reminder:   The noise ordinance is in effect from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Please be a good neighbor.

Your HOA Board asks that you please observe the no parking signs that are posted on common property. Have you noticed the ruts in the grass around the front pond. Please do not drive to the ponds edge.

Reminder- Before you make any exterior changes to you property you MUST get approval from the HOA. The approval form is found under documents (ARC) You can mail it to the property manager or turn it in at a monthly meeting.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: The speed limit in Sunrise is 25 miles per hour. Please observe this speed limit. Especially now with school out be watchful for children playing.

JUST A REMINDER - motorized vehicles are not allowed to be driven in the common areas. Please be mindful of the signs that are posted. Let's all be good neighbors.

To report a street light out contact Duke Energy at 800-228-8485

Reminder: Parking is not allowed on the grass of your home or the common areas.

Important: Take Note : There are over 1800 homeless students in Seminole County. Hunger is a concern that our schools are trying to address. If you are not aware, the schools in Seminole County collect donations of food, coats and shoes. These are then sent home with selected students on Friday afternoons. They ask that only non-perishable food be donated. Personal items such as toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, etc. are also needed. Let’s get Sunrise involved in helping these children in need. As colder weather approaches they really need coats. The need is in all schools, elementary, middle and high school. You can take your donations to any Seminole County School. Let’s get involved!
