Updates and Upcoming Research Presentations:

Paper Accepted (2025 April):  "Railway Network Expansion Reduces Air Pollution in Tokyo Over 25 Years" has been accepted for publication of  Sustainable Cities and Society. (IF:10.5).  We found that railway expansion in Tokyo cut air pollution over a 25-year period, and health benefits equal 1.4–2.3% of railway construction costs.

Paper Accepted (2025 July):  "Railway expansion reduces carbon emissions by passenger modal shift from road to railways, 1990–2019" has been accepted for publication of  Journal of Cleaner Production (IF:10).  Our study reveals that the expansion of Japan's railway network over the past 30 years has led to a significant reduction in carbon emissions, ranging from 97.44 to 110.73 million metric tons, through passenger modal shifts from road to rail transport.

Paper Accepted (2025 September):  "Residential Solar PV and Electricity Consumption: Pro-Environmental Behaviors, Technology Adoption, and Pathways to a Low-Carbon Society" has been accepted for publication of  Cities (IF:6).
