Updates and Upcoming Research Presentations:

Paper Accepted (2025 March):  "Spatially Varying Impacts of Sea Surface Temperature on Coral Bleaching: A Geographically Weighted Regression Approach" has been accepted for publication of  Journal of Environmental Management. (IF:8). This study uses Geographically Weighted Regression to reveal regional variations in coral bleaching risk, identifying Southern Africa and Southeast Asia as highly vulnerable. Projections indicate severe equatorial bleaching by 2050, highlighting the need for targeted climate action.

Paper Accepted (2025 April):  "Railway Network Expansion Reduces Air Pollution in Tokyo Over 25 Years" has been accepted for publication of  Sustainable Cities and Society. (IF:10.5).  We found that railway expansion in Tokyo cut air pollution over a 25-year period, and health benefits equal 1.4–2.3% of railway construction costs.

Paper Accepted (2025 April):  "Impacts of Urban-Rural Migration on Domain-Specific Satisfaction" has been accepted for publication of  Cities (IF:6).  We reveal that migration to urban areas improves life and domain-specific satisfaction, while migration to rural areas offers no well-being gains.

Paper Accepted (2025 July):  "Railway expansion reduces carbon emissions by passenger modal shift from road to railways, 1990–2019" has been accepted for publication of  Journal of Cleaner Production (IF:10).  Our study reveals that the expansion of Japan's railway network over the past 30 years has led to a significant reduction in carbon emissions, ranging from 97.44 to 110.73 million metric tons, through passenger modal shifts from road to rail transport.
