31st Summer Conference on Topology and its ApplicationsHosted by the Mathematics Department ofThe University of LeicesterWelcomeWe are pleased to announce that The University of Leicester will be hosting the 31st Summer Conference on Topology and its Applications from the morning of Tuesday 2nd August to the afternoon of Friday 5th August 2016. The conference will be held at the university's main campus, which is a mile south of Leicester City Centre and adjacent to parkland. Conference Booklet - The Conference booklet is available to download here - Conference Booklet Note: There have been changes to the schedule for the Galway Colloquium, Topology and Foundations, Asymmetric Topology and Topological Methods in Algebra and Analysis sessions, which are highlighted in red on the webpage but are not reflected in the booklet. Locations Please see the interactive map of the university campus - Interactive Map . This map shows the university campus and the location of the campus within Leicester. You can also download a location map through this link - Pocket Location Map (click on the "download" arrow at the top, this will then enable you to rotate it for easier viewing). If you will be travelling by car see the Car Park map for details of Pay and Display Car Parks. (Download it by clicking on the arrow at the top for a bigger version) When arriving at the University by foot use the Mayor's Walk entrance (Entrance 2 - see the Pocket Location Map). This is also the best entrance to ask taxis to drop you off. To find the location of the venues for the conference click on the "Menu" button on the top right hand corner. This brings up a list of campuses and on clicking on the "Main Campus Buildings" option you will see a list of buildings. Accommodation The Conference Accommodation is at Opal Court. See the Accommodation Page for more information and for a map Food Outlets Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served for morning and afternoon breaks. For lunch the following catering outlets will be open for you to purchase your lunch:
Breakfast - for those staying at Opal Court breakfast will be served in the Charles Wilson 1st Floor Park Lounge from 7.30 a.m. Social EventsThere will be a Welcome Reception Buffet on the evening of Monday 1st August and a Conference Dinner on Thursday 4th August. More details about these events can be seen on the Social Events page. These events will be held in the Charles Wilson 1st Floor Park Lounge Visit to Leicester's Richard III Centre on the evening of Wednesday, 3rd August, followed by an informal buffet and cash bar. See the Social Events page for more information about this event, including a map. The centre is only a short walk from the university, however for anyone wishing to contribute towards a shared taxi ,either from the campus or from Opal Court, there will be a sign up sheet. The deadline to sign up for this will be lunchtime on Wednesday 3rd to enable this to be organised. See the top of this page for details about the guided walk to the Centre.
