Sujith Mangalathu is a researcher in the field of machine learning, risk assessment and disaster management. He obtained his Ph.D from Georgia Institute of Technology, in 2017.  He also spent two years as a 
post-doctoral research scholar at University of California, Los Angeles.

His research is focused on the application of machine learning techniques for the risk assessment of structural and infrastructure systems.
He strives to develop innovative methods for regional risk assessment using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.

Sujith Mangalathu is a recipient of the prestigious Nevada Medal for Bridge Engineering in 2017. He is the bronze medalist winner of the first machine learning based image challenge competition organized by University of California, Berkeley in 2018.  He is also a technical committee member of the ASCE-SEI TG3 on the risk assessment of structural and infrastructural systems.  He is also an AWS certified Cloud Practitioner and Solutions Architect
