About Sue

I joined the Tam Adult School teaching staff in 2007 as an ESL instructor, but now I teach GED prep with a focus on English, reading and writing. I love working with the adult students in our program, and I enjoy the professional team of colleagues I work with each day.

I began my teaching career over 30 years ago and have taught every elementary grade from Kindergarten through the 8th grade. After staying home for many years to raise my own three children, I returned to teaching but decided to work with adults instead of children, and I've never looked back! I earned a Certificate to teach ESL (English as a Second Language) from UC Berkeley Extension, and began volunteer-teaching ESL at the Canal Alliance in San Rafael before I joined the Tam Adult School.

In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family, hike with my dogs, work in my garden and paint watercolor paintings. You can see some of my watercolors here: SueDeVinnyWatercolors.com
