This Open Educational Resource (OER) is intended as a textbook replacement for faculty and/or students interested in the variety of topics related to Jewish humor. Readings are listed by topic on the Contents page of this site. Some readings are also appropriate for courses in Judaic Studies or general humor. Topics covered include theories of humor, characteristics of Jewish humor, Biblical humor, Talmudic and Midrashic humor, anti-Semitic humor, humor as a tool of social justice, meaningful humor. Additional topics are: toxic humor in the workplace, and humor as an educational tool.
