Maria Gaucci:
Several years ago the Justice and Peace Group decided to assist Maria Gaucci, a registered Nurse and F.M.M. Sister, in building and running a free school for children in Madagascar. These children, whose parents could not afford School Fees, would not otherwise have received any education. Parishioners kindly donated to a collection whilst others set up Direct Debits which enabled Maria to build the school and pay for 2 teachers for 2 years. Maria who is now in her 80's is still working with the poor people in Madagascar.
