Why You Should Support Our Mission

Installing stoves in Guatemalan villages is the gift of life. Breathing smoke leads to respiratory illness, reduced capacity to earn a living, burn injuries and a shortened lifespan. Think of a child smoking the equivalent of a pack or two of cigarettes during each meal!

From an environmental standpoint, the stoves we will be installing, the Aller Stove, is highly efficient, using 65 percent less wood. Maintaining open fires requires a lot of wood due to their inefficiency. Families must spend a significant amount of time and energy gathering wood and this leads to severe deforestation of the local environment. Deforestation leads to more time spent to gather wood as well as excessive erosion. The current situation is a self-perpetuating, destructive cycle.

Your contribution to our mission will make a difference! Think about the impact of just one stove to a family. Our mission is to install 100 stoves. With your help we can do it. Thank you.
