Fall Newsletter from the PTA President

Dear SMES Community,

As the PTA President, I'm thrilled to greet all of you at the start of what promises to be an exciting and memorable school year!

With the days getting shorter and nights getting cooler, I can't help but feel a bubbling excitement for the Fall and the beginning of school. We have a rich calendar of events lined up that will not only engage our children but also foster a deeper connection amongst parents, teachers, and the community. Our aim is to create moments that our children and families will cherish and remember for years to come.

Your involvement is what fuels the PTA's success, and together, we can make this year a phenomenal one. Whether you're a returning member or new to the PTA family, your voice, ideas, and energy are invaluable. Let's join hands, share our insights, and work collaboratively to support our school's mission and the holistic development of every child. Annual membership and volunteering are how we serve our community.

This year, we have created two excellent opportunities through our partner sponsorships to support the school, community, AND gain visibility with our active student / parent base.  Only 1 x Premiere-level and 4 x Gold-level are offered.  Partners will be promoted at every PTA program / event including communications we send out regularly.

• First Day of School Meet and Greet - Monday, August 26th, 9:30A - 10A
  Fellow PTA Board members and I will be hosting parents with coffee and doughnuts after the start of the school day from 9:30-10 am in front of the school. Swing by and say hi!

• Back to School Picnic - Friday, August 30th, 5:30 - 7:30pm
  Let us start the school year off with a fun-filled jam with a DJ, games, an inflatable ninja course, food, and plenty of FUN on the SMES Playground!

• Back to School Night & PTA Meeting #1 - Thursday, September 5th, 6:30 - 8:30pm
  Join us in person and on Zoom as we kick off the year with our first PTA meeting and Back to School Night with Administration & Teachers. We'll celebrate our successes from last year, talk about ideas for next year, and vote in our 2024-2025 Budget.

• Fallfest Movie Night - Friday, October 11th, 6:30 - 8:30pm
  A refreshed program for this year, we will be hosting an in-person Movie Night on the SMES Playground complete with popcorn and treats for purchase. Admission and space is limited. More information to come!
