RESIDENTS’ VIEWS ON THE APPLICATION TO BUILD STUDENT ACCOMMODATION ON HUNTER STREET CAR PARK
Hunter Street car park is situated between St Martins and the new theatre project on the site of the Odeon Cinema. The proposed multi-storey building will house accommodation for 80 students and - if the planning application is approved - will be in full view of our homes.
There was a public exhibition of the proposals over the summer and all the details of the application can be found on the CWAC website (see CWAC - Planning Records - 15/04014/FUL). Many residents attended the exhibition and expressed concern about the design as well as about the necessity to provide student accommodation in what is to become Chester’s new cultural quarter.
The planning application meeting will be held at the end of this month and the deadline for comments is shortly before.
A collective response from the Residents’ Association might carry additional weight and, if you agree, then please email Steve McMahon in The Yonne (McMahon.steve1@sky.com) before Monday 26th October and he will co-ordinate the presentation of comments received.
Residents will receive a copy of our final collective response but please note that your own individual response direct to CWAC would still be very much worthwhile.
Thank you.
