Endowments

Our Mission

St. Luke's Lutheran Church Endowment Fund was established to provide a lasting opportunity for people to express special gratitude to God for the blessings they have received throughout their lives. Providing a gift or legacy through the Endowment Fund is a fulfilling and spiritual experience. Such a gift, whether as part of a lifelong plan or as part of an estate, is good stewardship and fully deductible as a charitable contribution.

Some types of planned gifts are:

Cash gifts - Memorializing/honoring someone
Bequests - As part of an estate plan
Insurance - Naming the fund as beneficiary
Real Estate/Property - Gifts of property
Stocks, bonds, securities - Mutual funds or company stock as gifts.
IRA rollovers - Tax laws make this easier.
Trusts - Special trusts benefit the giver and the Endowment Fund.

The Endowment Fund is a permanent fund separate from St. Luke's annual operating budget. All gifts placed in this fund are managed and invested by the Endowment Fund Committee. The earnings from this fund are made available to enhance the mission work of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

Funds Distribution

In 2024, the Endowment Fund distributed funds to support the St. Luke’s Cemetery, Cross, Quilting, and WELCA Freezer Meal Ministries, as well as the Discipleship Committee’s Drawn to the Word event.

If your committee or group is interested in applying for a grant from the Endowment Fund, please provide the information requested below on a separate piece of paper attached to this cover sheet.

Please include:

St. Luke’s committee or group
How much are you requesting?
What will this grant be used for?
- How does this grant support spreading the Gospel?
- How will this grant be used to enhance the mission of your committee or group?

You can place your completed application in an envelope marked “Endowment Fund” and leave it in the Church Office, or you can hand it to any committee member (Shelley Gard, Scott Johnson, or Stacy Riedl).
