The Order of the Eastern Star is a Freemasonry-related fraternal organization open to both men and women. It was established in 1850 by lawyer and educator Rob Morris, a noted Freemason. The order is based on teachings from the Bible, but is open to people of all religious beliefs. The Grand Chapter of Nevada has several Chapters within its jurisdiction. Here in Pioche, NV, Mizpah Chapter 19 meets at 2pm on the second Saturday of each month.
The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry is an extension of Blue Lodge teachings. It has a local membership group, or Valley located in Las Vegas, NV.
Shriners International is an appendant body focusing on Shriner Hospitals for Children. All activities, such as Shriner's Circus, go toward sponsoring children who need medical care, free of charge. The closest Shrine is found in Las Vegas.
The Royal Arch, The Cryptic Council, and The Knights Templar are all part of the York Rite. Similar to the Scottish Rite, it is an extension of teachings beyond the Blue Lodge. For further information, watch this video:
