CC Meet Information
Even though the team has been going to the same meets for many years, there is always a first visit for athletes and spectators. Below is some compiled information to help with meet day.
Held in Wildwood Park in Marshfield, WI. This is a mostly flat course with a mix of gravel trails, paved paths and grass. The first mile follows the outside of the park before winding through the woods for the second mile. The last 1/2 mile takes the runners through the meet's signature water pit then out around the retention pond. There is good viewing from the side of the retention pond where you can see the start, and the last 1/2 mile of the race. There is a very small, free zoo in the park and a nice playground for the little ones. Traditionally a showcase of Minnesota and Wisconsin teams, there will be big and small schools from both states. There are Varsity, JV and Jr High races. There is also a "friends and family" 2 mile run before the awards, so come ready to run if you feel inspired. Link to Marshfield Meet Page
This course is a completely flat course run on mostly grass through North Alexander Park in Faribault. In the past, there has been a small charge for parking so bring some small bills. Get there early to avoid delays as the races cross the road into the park. After the start, you can make the 1 mile if you hustle.
Held at Eastwood Golf Course. In sharp contrast to the 1st two meets, this one has hills. Those hill repeats on Mulberry Street pay off here. The runners perform many turns and loops around the golf course. You can stand in one place and see the racers go by multiple times. It's a long drive, but a good course for spectators. Meet Page
As the name implies, a vary large meet. Held at Stones Throw Golf Course in Milaca, this meet has 4 school divisions and a race for 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th grades in addition to the JV and Varsity races. There is also an "Alumni" race open to anyone. Another good course for spectators as you can see the athletes 3 times within the 1st mile.
There is paid parking near the course and on street free parking. Get there early even though the boys don't race until the afternoon. There are typically more than 10,000 people at this meet.
There will be a picnic with the Girls team. Also, there will be Co-ed team trophies for combined boys and girls team scores.
A much smaller meet after Milaca, this is held on the Chaska Par 30 course. Another looping course where spectators don't need to move around much. While not completely flat, the hills are not much of a factor here. Parking across the street at Kohls, or on Hundertmark Road.
A beautiful place for a race in early October. This meet is another destination meet where the whole team can participate. The course has changed many times over the years as the Arrowwood Resort has expanded, but it always finishes along the lake and right next to the hotel. It is a beautiful combination of a golf course and a trail run with a flat and fast finish. Plan on spending the night on Friday and joining the team for the pasta dinner. Contact Scott for rooms and meal info.
At Tanners Brook Golf Club in Forest Lake. The conference meet moved here in 2015. Good sight lines for coaches and spectators as well as topography.
Held at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Held on the campus of St. Olaf.
For those who didn't get enough racing during the MSHSL season, this is a good opportunity. Top 2 teams qualify for Nationals.
