Our Scout Group has registered for Gift Aid, so that we can claim tax back from the Inland Revenue and boost the Group's funds. We can claim Gift Aid on all subscriptions paid to the Group by UK taxpayers who give us authorisation to do this. At the current tax rates, we can claim 25p tax back for every pound paid in subscriptions. This would gain the Group an extra £18.75 per year for each Beaver, Cub and Scout.
We are now using the Online Scout Manager database to hold information on our members (personal details, medical information, badge records, etc.). We can also use OSM to record our Gift Aid records, and make our claim from the Inland Revenue. This system holds a record of your autorisation for us to claim Gift Aid on the subscriptions you pay to our Scout Group.
To enable us to claim Gift Aid from your subscriptions, please respond to any emails you will be sent from OSM/MyScout asking you to confirm you are a UK taxpayer, and to enter your name and address. You will need to respond separately for each child you have in the Scout Group, but you will only need to reply once during their time in our Scout Group.
Please inform us if you are no longer eligible for us to claim Gift Aid on your subscriptions, or if you wish to withdraw from the scheme.
