This is the web page for Stephen Drake, a cellist in Nashville, Tennessee. It's really just a self indulgent web page, with items of very limited interest to friends of Steve's, maybe. In the grand old tradition of self indulgent web pages, it has a black or gray background, a few links, and maybe some pictures of my cats.
Some history: way back in 1993, before almost anybody had heard of the world wide web, the local dial up bulletin board I was using offered free internet connections and web hosting space for anyone who was able to figure out how to use it. So I spent about a day messing with tcp/ip stacks in windows 3.1, and eventually got it working - this back in the days when the number of web pages was still in the low thousands. And a day later I wrote a rudimentary web page that was basically to see if I could do it - and started getting hits on it and everything, and emails about it - it was very exciting! Remember, there were only a few web pages out there at the time, so the chances of being found accidentally were really good. Anyway, I basically kept that web page going for decades - changing the basic code slightly over the years, and moving it from various hosting sites from time to time. Now it's here. It's still lame and old and useless and basically never updated.
So far I've got basically nothing here yet - see http://home.comcast.net/~sduck409/ for an older version of this.
