Our Trip to Denmark
A Photographic Panorama by Dori Stern (Age 12), Hope Herndon (Age 11), and Aaron Stern (Age 7)
[with a little help from Steven Stern (surprisingly young)]
Dad's Comments: The boat ride was very nice. Dori was worried, though, when the guide told us that, on average, one car per week falls into the canals.
Dad's comments: The highlight of this shot is my big nose.
Dad's Comments: Hope and Aaron were exposed as the true pirates they are. I guess they took Dori hostage. Later, in Copenhagen, they trashed an elevator.
Dad's Comments: Now, Dori and Hope turn on Aaron and try to throw him overboard.
Aaron's comments: That's Big Ben
Dori's comments: Not
Dad's Comments: Copenhagen is a beautiful, charming city. I just loved walking around and seeing street after street of colorful buildings. Also, the statues and plazas were nice. There is just a friendly, welcoming atmosphere to the city, despite the cold, dreary weather.
Dad's comments: This is where the conference was.
Dad's comments: The Danes take much better care of their queen than the British (click here to compare).
Dad's comments: The kids practice being a guard (I told them not to quit their day job).
Dad's comments: They look tough now, but wait until they have to start fighting with the swords.
Dad's comments: I don't see why Aaron would be afraid of sharks.
Dad's comments: This picture is beautiful with a high resolution internet connection. The kids took it while I was listening to Victor Rios-Rull make statements like (paraphrasing) "I refuse to answer the question because I don't care about it."
Dori's Comments: It was really crowded.
Aaron's Comments: I liked the naked people.
Dad's Comments: Copenhagen has a really nice pedestrian mall with shops, street musicians, etc. Dori, Hope, and Aaron were really excited with some musicians playing drums. But they had some problems with all of the "nude" statues. (I liked them)
Dori's comments: They had many bicyclists who were dangerous.
Dad's comments: Every few street corners, we would come up to an open plaza with a fountain or statue. I don't remember the names (they were all in Danish), but they gave the city a friendly feel.
Dad's comments: Dori is helping Aaron. But it is really Dori who needs help while Aaron is a star skater. It was nice of Aaron to pretend otherwise.
Dad's comments: Hope showed off for Dori...
Dad's comments: Dori races around the track hugging the rail.
Dad's comments: until.. well I guess she needs some more practice.
Dad's comments: I was too fast for anyone to get me on film. If not for the Denmark trip, I would have been in the Olympics.
Dad's comments: Aaron tries to throw a snowball at me but misses (because of my overwhelming speed).
Dad's comments: Another skater tries to avoid Hope.
Dad's comments: Lots of skaters skating from Hope as fast as possible.
Dad's comments: The children are wet because they had to jump in the water to catch the little mermaid and prevent her from escaping.
Dad spent three days at the Economics Department at the University of Copenhagen discussing his brilliant paper, entitled Cohabitation, Marriage, and Divorce in Equilibrium.
Dad's Comments: Hope and Aaron try to shoot Dori with the cannon. Luckily, they have bad aim.
