Driving Question: What are enzymes and why are they vital to living things?
Enzymes are biological catalysts that help speed up chemical reactions in organisms. Without enzymes, reactions take place too slowly to keep you alive, and this makes you more vulnerable to certain diseases. This is why we have done this experiment; to test how enzymes function in different environmental conditions.
