ELA Component Journal
Entry 1: I had to sign up for a Gmail account. Then, I had to choose which project I wanted to do. After I decided, I emailed my teacher the choice I made, using my PBL Gmail account that I just created. He agreed with my choice and told me to move on to the next step.
Entry 2: Next, I needed to create a blank Google site to put all of my PBL information. Then, I shared the site with my Science teacher. After that, I had to make my teacher the owner of my website so that he could access it at any time and edit it whenever needed.
Entry 3: Next, I created a new page titled "What Is STEM SOS?". This page is mostly about STEM education and why it is important not only for the United States, but for the world. This page would include question answers, videos, and hyperlinks to the STEM Facebook and Twitter page for any additional information.
Entry 4: After, I need to create a new page called "My PBL Project". I will then start editing my page and I will try not to forget to press Save after I am finished. I should keep my homepage blank and not delete it because I will be needing it for future reference and I will edit it later. Next I should prepare the content of my PBL project page by making sure it has five main titles. Those main titles are the introduction, materials, procedure, scientific principle, and safety regulations.
Entry 5: Next I will need to make a video presentation. When I am capturing videos and taking pictures, I should try to find a quality camcorder/digital camera for taking pictures and recording my video. I can create my video using a video software, such as Apple iMovie or Microsoft Movie Maker. Then I will add my video presentation to my YouTube channel or Google Drive. I will name my video presentation as the title of my project. Finally, I will insert my PBL video to my "My PBL Project" page.
Entry 6: When I’m done with that, I will move onto creating an "ELA/SS Component" page. First, I will be posting my ELA component to my project. This is basically to upload all of my journal entries to my PBL website. This will be graded by my ELA teacher. My SS, or Social Studies, component will come later.
