Generation Youth Energy (GY-Energy) is a network initiative hosted by the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Initiated as part of the Energy and Resource Economics undergraduate module taught by Associate Professor Stella Tsani, the network aims to raise awareness, representation and participation of students at all levels, in matters related to national, regional, European and global energy and resource management policies and developments.
The network positions that the ongoing energy and sustainability transition cannot be met in the absence of youth involvement, tailored education and job opportunities. For a resilient future, energy transition should go together with a profound enriching of education curricula, just and inclusive transition in the labor market and decision making. This is particularly important for the market segments directly and/or indirectly linked to the energy sector (e.g., extraction, construction, transport, maintenance services, etc.) with direct implications for many generations: X, Y, Z, Alpha and those to come!
GY-Energy aims and activities
Through its collaborative activities that bring together students, academics, business representatives, policy makers and other interested stakeholders, GY-Energy aims to:

· Engage youth in public dialogue related to energy developments, climate change action and resource management
· Support results-driven teaching through active tutor-tutee sessions
· Encourage student-focused network development across disciplines, institutions and countries
· Connect students in Greece with international networks and initiatives associated with energy development
· Encourage youth-led energy-related science communication and dissemination
