Welcome to my Website!
I am a financial economist studying how corporate finance decisions shape firms, markets, and the careers and lives of employees.
A central strand of my work explores the impact of IPOs, mergers, and private equity buyouts on firms’ organizational structures and human capital risks. Another focus is on share repurchases, where I investigate their role in market liquidity, price efficiency, and the interaction with executive incentives. More recently, I have expanded into topics that concern the societal value of finance, including the effects of corporate finance on employee health and the demographics of firms---questions of particular relevance in ageing societies.
My papers often make use of innovative, large-scale datasets such as administrative census records. My work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and Management Science.
Beyond research, I have developed and taught courses in Corporate Finance, Blockchain Technology, and Empirical Methods at the bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD level.
