This information is for students interested in writing their Bachelor's or Master's thesis under my supervision. Please read the information below before sending an email with your request.
Familiarize yourself with Uni Bonn's guidelines for the Bachelor's thesis here or the Master's thesis here.
Note that supervision slots are limited and primarily reserved for topics aligned with my research. If my research interests do not fit your interests well, please consider alternative supervisors in the department.
Topic proposal should connect to my research. My current research areas include (e.g., the economics of misinformation and housing markets). Projects should relate to these themes to be considered.
Students should propose a topic, which we will narrow down together. When contacting me, you have to include:
CV
transcript of all courses taken
proposed topic and research question (why is this research question interesting and/or policy relevant?)
extended paragraph that motivates the research question (which knowledge gap is addressed?)
proposed data/research design/methodology (for Master's thesis)
approximate date that you want to register your thesis
Once I’ve reviewed your application, I will respond to your request to schedule a meeting only if there is a supervision slot. Based on the information you provided, we will discuss and find a suitably refined topic for the thesis during the meeting.
Important: Currently, my capacity for thesis supervision is extremely limited. I will only accept proposed topics that align exceptionally well with my ongoing research.
