Dear friends,
I would like to thank you for all your support so far. You are awesome!
As 2024 is almost here I would like to drop in some few words and a deserved update.
I have not stopped working on the two projects, altough not as actively. This does not mean I will abandon them. Ideas are at this point coming slow and inspiration is not the same as it used to be. I continue to work on Path to Canaan especially, as the worldspace is coming very well together, and to be honest I need a break of bleak rusted city - tombs environments.
Greetings my friends. Been a while since I've posted here so you deserve to be updated on what to expect from this coming year. This is probably my last year in which I will work on any major project. After 11 years on and off I believe it's time for a good and well deserved rest away from any PC, Laptop, Console, Creation Kit, GECK , Drawing Tablets, Photoshops and so on. I will give you a small roadmap for the year what to expect. Of course this is not final and may change.
=June 2022=
Final worldspace touches to Path To Canaan
Beginning on Interiors and final chapter of the story with the player discovering Canaan
Updates and Patches to Buenos Fuentes 2.0 ALPHA
Release of my small mods compilation - things I've done but never released in a single pack.
=July 2022=
Buenos Fuentes 2.0 NPCs will be voiced and implemented, release date will be set for August
Dog City Remastered will be completely finished and release date will be set for later August
= August 2022=
Buenos Fuentes 2.0 will be released
Dog City Remastered will be released
= September 2022 =
Patch out and finish the remaining work on Path to Canaan
Implement side quests for PtA
Around this time, eleven years ago, I have begun my first mod - The Gas Station fort for Fallout 3. Ingame, I was using the place as my personal home in the wastes, storing my equipment, having a place to rest after long quests and wasteland adventures, but something was missing from being a true wasteland home. So, I've herd online that there are player home mods, but none have sparked any interest or did a proper location I was favoring (other one from Jocko and Pop's was the abandoned now raider infested BOS outpost in the old power station by the Potomac) I've downloaded the GECK, fired it up and since then everything is history. I got hooked. Ideas started flowing in with all the possibilities set before me. Afterwards came The Lodge, Survivalist home and kept pushing out player homes, until I decided to move on something bigger so project Springvale came about.
Imagine : a dead place brought to life with new purpose and meaning.
So as life went on and work continues to this day, you may notice most of my work, except Buenos Fuentes is in pretty much semi finished state. But soon, hopefully by the end of this year, 2022 I will roll out the finished ques on all of my unfinished work and hopefully a Path To Canaan demo.
In the meanwhile,
Thank you friends,
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for your support trough the years.
Thank you for your Creative and Constructive criticism.
Thank you for the ideas.
Thank you for making all this happen.
Stay true,
I love you!
Hoss.
Greetings fellow prospectors, raiders, ghouls and other wasters! Today is the last of the year update on what's going on with the mod, the direction its heading and more.
What's New :
I've been working hard lately through the holidays to build up and expand on the level design. I'm trying to break linearity through small alleys, tunnels and rooftop bridges to give a more open feeling to the world, yet engaging on ground-to-roof level. Im also including a large chunk of the Van Buuren lore and design from THE HOLY DESIGN DOCUMENTS.
That being said, expect a lot of the originals ideas to be fully/partially/somewhat implemented into the mod.
I also want to thank rjhelms84 and the rest of the good people who worked on the original mod. ALL OF THEIR WORK WILL BE INCLUDED AND UNCHANGED TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITIES.
That being said, its important to state out that this project is an upgrade to the original work and you will 100% need to download Dog City Denver first.
Here are some screenshots of the progress so far :
In Denver, most of the population is above ground, so expect a good portion of the action to take place in high risers and rooftops.
A world map for easier navigation
Tunnels are now more easy to spot
Lowry Hospital
What bothered me in the mod was the absolute lackluster of any orientation or any hints of progression. Let me explain :
This mod was made back in 2011 when New Vegas moding was still in its general infancy. While Oblivion and Fallout 3 still had some major projects as in worldspaces (Alton for example), NV was left out generally unchanged. Most worldspaces were pretty crude, simple and unfinished . Now, enter 2021/22 in the age of FNC, Frontier, San Fran and so on. I have added a much needed, yet pretty crude world map as a QoL improvement to the worldspace. Also made tunnels more visable, added missing and incomplete locations like Lowry Hospital, the Department Store now feels more like a department store etc.
The future and release date
I was planning into adding a small cosmetic update to the allready existing mod, but what im going fully into now is a total remaster. Release date was set for Xmas, 2021 as I was completely done with overhauling the small Denver area, but now i'm actually going to fully remaster this mod from A to B. By the end of January I hope I will release it. What's been done so far :
Denver area has been totally overhauled
New interiors added
NPC armor and gear totally overhauled
Fixed number of quest marker issues and updated triggers and scripts (tested 3 playtroughs)
LOD has been generated and implemented
World Map has been added
What to be expected in the near future :
Area related accents and re-recoding of the voice acting and character overhauls
Story inconsitencies to be fixed
New enemy types (climbing lizzard and cyberdogs)
New NPCs
New healing items
New Plague/Blue Flu/Limit 115 story line implimented from Denver Design Documents
Caesar's legion completely redone with the gas chamber execution removed and Terrance to be renamed to Decanus Vexan Pollux
Possibility for NCR to return
New gameplay mechanics as to gunplay and weapons - in the spirit of dead money your gear will be removed and you will be set to scavange/build your own arsenal. Something like Resident Evil 3 where u explore a whole town and pick up your armaments along the way
and much much more!
