PORTRAITS OF NORTH AMERICAN STEAM LOCOMOTIVES

PART ONE OF TWO

Santa Fe 2066

THIS SITE DISPLAYS PHOTOGRAPHS FROM MY COLLECTION

1018 PHOTOS ARE SHOWN ON THE FOLLOWING PAGES

Great Northern M-2 1981 Great Falls, Montana 1945

This site should appeal to anyone who enjoys looking at steam locomotives in their infinite variety. The site does not focus on any particular railroad or type of locomotive. It is purely a selection of photos that I like. The choice was totally subjective.

Green Bay & Western 23 Green Bay, Wisconsin September 1939

The following pages are organized alphabetically by railroad.

I generally use the short name, for example, the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe is listed as Santa Fe or the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific is listed as Rock Island.

NOTE

THIS IS ONLY PART ONE

  1. THIS PART ONLY CONTAINS

Akron Canton & Youngstown to Seaboard Air Line

THE SECOND PART CONTAINS

Soo Line to Western Pacific

plus Short Lines, Mexico and Action Photographs

PART TWO IS AT:

Soo Line 4019 Minneapolis, Minnesota June 29, 1947

Because they are located in my other sites, there are no photos in this site of 2-8-2,

4-6-2, 4-4-2, 4-4-4 or Camelback types. Nor are there photos of locomotives of the

NYNH&H, B&M, B&A, MEC, BAR, CV, Rutland, GT, or New England short lines.

Illinois Central 875 Paducah, Kentucky February 10, 1898

This site complements several other google sites that I have created to display my collection of steam locomotive photographs. My other sites have as subjects Mikados, Pacifics, Atlantics, Camelbacks, the rosters of the new england railroads, and the locomotives built by the Rhode Island Locomotive Works.
