Brad Sandefur
"Welcome to Star Chapter 488's web page. As you may already know, my name is Brad Sandefur and I am the Chapter "Sergeant at Arms". As the Sgt. at Arms, I have two main responsibilities. My first responsibility is to do all I can to help you learn about, enjoy and feel welcome with Star Touring and Riding as well as with Chapter 488.
My second main responsibility is to assist the President, Chris Kowalczyk and Vice-President, Victor Hukill, in any way they may ask, as well as helping all members with getting their information and paperwork set so they can join in on riding with us, as well as taking part in our family activities. Of course, as a family oriented riding chapter, pretty much all of our activities are family oriented. Come out and visit us, step up and say HI!
Here we are five or six years after I joined Chapter 488 and we are still going strong. Our core membership is solid and our membership is expanding a couple of new members at a time. The new members are contributing and suggesting things for us to do or look into. I enjoy riding with each and every one of them and am proud to still be a 488 member and officer. If any member should require my assistance or has questions they think I can answer, my contact information is on the contact page. Feel free to touch bases with me.
Hello everyone,
Happy Mother's Day to our Moms and all Moms everywhere in the world on this Mother's Day, May 8, 2016. A friend told me yesterday that Mother's Day is officially for only actual birth mothers. I told her that as far as I was concerned, this day applies to any lady who does, on a daily basis, the things a mother is supposed to do. Giving birth does not make one a Mom. Being a Mom is what makes one a Mom. As such, I am thankful for both of the Moms that I had growing up and respect all women who do the hard work of being a Mom every day.
I have just finished writing the required introductory letter to the Elgin parade committee. I am posting the letter here for all to see:
Star Touring and Riding (S.T.A.R.) is an international motorcycle riding organization that focuses on promoting motorcycle riding and safety in a family oriented atmosphere. We accept all riders and enthusiasts, even if they do not actually own a motorcycle, and all motorcycle brands.
We offer special recognition of women (Ladies of Star), Law enforcement/First responders (Tin Stars), and Veterans. We also recognize both teen and child members of S.T.A.R. We have approximately 70,000 members worldwide.
I hope everyone finds this acceptable. It has been reviewed and approved by our chapter president.
Enjoy the day!

What a great day yesterday was for our chapter! 3 new prospects came to ur meeting plus two more that have attended previous meetings and ridden with us. We got more exposure thanks to the folks at Fifth Alarm Firehouse house restaurant. We had a great time chatting it up at lunch and getting to know our visitors a little bit and the ride was wonderful! See y'all at the Labor day get together later today.

We have shared many trips and get together this riding season. We have gained a couple of new members and selected a new charity. We are doing well. This year, the summer get together will be at my house for the first time. I look forward to seeing everyone there. Remember to RSVP to FiveFish1@aol.com. Nancy and I need to know how much stuff we need to stock up for everyone.
Hopefully, we will see you on Aug.19th.

Hello everyone,
As most of you know, I am unable to ride for most of this season, perhaps all of it, due to a surgical procedure. I hope everyone else is enjoying the planned rides, and as always the many unplanned "let's go" rides. I would like to welcome our newest members and prospects. Due to the absence of our Pres. and VP for July 8th, I unexpectedly, meaning I had not planned for it, conducted the meeting. I apologize for not being prepared. I have attached the meeting minutes to this comment section. I also e-mailed the minutes to those for whom I had a valid e-mail address via the 488 member's page. Safe riding
