Seong Tae Kim

Dr. Seong Tae Kim

I am a senior research scientist in chair for computer aided medical procedures and augmented reality at Faculty of Informatics, Technical University of Munich, Munich, Germany. I completed the Ph. D. at KAIST Image and Video sYstems Lab. (supervised by Prof. Yong Man Ro), Daejeon, South Korea, in 2019. I received the B.S. degree from Korea University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2012 and the M.S. degree from KAIST, Daejeon, South Korea, in 2014. In 2015, I was a visiting researcher at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My research interests include machine learning, deep learning, explainable AI, interpretability, medical image analysis, and spatio-temporal learning. I'm a recipient of Robert F. Wagner All Conference Best Student Paper Finalists Award (2018) and Honorable Mentioned Poster Award (2015) from SPIE Medical Imaging, Samsung HumanTech Paper Award (2017), Best 10% Paper Award (2015) from IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, and Best Paper Award from Korea Multimedia Society (2012, 2016).
