Client: Tata Financial Services Ltd
Technology: Cobol used in front end designing, IBM and SAP Data warehouse tools used to implement a total end to end transactional warehouse for the Tata Financial Services Ltd with a transaction reports set. The warehouse was built on Oracle RDMBS. Extensive Unix Scripting used for scheduling.
Achievements: Served as a Technical Lead, TCS Star of the Month Award. Delivery appreciated for Quality and Accuracy by the client and is one of the major revenue influencing module of the NBFC
Implementation of First and Major Business Process Foundation Application for a retailer (December 2012 to December 2013)
Client: Marks and Spencer (M&S) IT, UK
Technology: The first data warehouse of the retailer were implemented catering to data of 6 major business modules: Sales, Stock, Buying, Vendor, Plan / Forecast, Data Mining for Business Decisions. An extensive relational data base were first designed, on top of which using SAP and IBM tools, a data warehouse was modelled and integrated. A set of 90 analytical and transactional reports were built from the data base. Data mining, Data Summarisation, Like for Like Analysis, History Data Analysis were performed for providing predictive sales report to the clients.
Achievements: CIO Award from the TCS-Retailer Relationships. Delivery appreciated for Quality and Accuracy by the client.
Performance tuning of Data base objects in collaboration with Technical Excellence Group, TCS. (December 2012 to May 2013)
Technical Excellence Group (TEG) Initiative : Part of the team selected by TEG to work on the performance issues of major data warehouse systems implemented by few of the TCS Project Teams and present a detailed report. Database queries were refined based on some major approaches like removal of self joins, modifying default optimisation level of DB2 and Oracle, Indexing, removal of costly functions like substr, strcat, creation of materialised views for larger data sets, changing the order of where clauses, adding foreign keys, use of statistical views and like the same. The program was very successful and resulted in remarkable performance improvement.
Implementation of Vendor and Stock In Transit Application for a retailer (December 2009 to July 2011)
Client: Marks and Spencer (M&S)
Technology: The existing data warehouse built using IBM Data Warehouse tools was extended to include a new modules on Vendor and Stock In Transit data. These modules were built on Relational Data Base built using DB2.
Achievements: TCS On the Spot Award. Appreciation from Client for an on time and quality delivery.
